Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the ash content of edible grains, legumes, and their milled products. This standard applies to the determination of ash content in grain particles, flour, and wheat grain flour, milled products (bran and products with high bran content, coarse grain flour), mixed grain flour (mixtures), other grain by-products except milled products, legumes, and their by-products. This standard does not apply to the determination of ash content in starch and starch derivatives (see ISO 3593), feed (see ISO 5984), or seeds.
