Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the oil-repellent performance of fabrics using a series of liquid hydrocarbons with different surface tensions.
This standard is applicable to all types of fabrics and their products.
This standard aims to provide guidance on oil-repellent performance. The standard can give a rough oil-repellent grade, and generally, the higher the oil-repellent grade, the better the sample's resistance to oil-based materials, especially liquid oil-based substances. This standard is particularly suitable for comparing the oil-repellent effects of the same base fabric after being treated with different finishing agents. This standard can also be used to determine the impact of washing and dry cleaning on the oil-repellent properties of the sample.
