Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. of heat pump water heaters for household and similar purposes (hereinafter referred to as heat pump water heaters).
This standard applies to heat pump water heaters for household and similar purposes that are driven by motors, use vapor compression refrigeration cycles, and use air or water as heat sources for providing hot water. Heat pump water heaters with other heat sources or purposes can be used for reference.
This standard does not apply to industrial heat pump water heaters.
