Scope

This document establishes the structural integrity requirements and basic principles for evaluating the support structures (including foundations) of onshore wind turbines. The scope includes general or site-specific geotechnical assessments, strength calculations for flanges and connection systems connected to the nacelle components (including connections to yaw bearings), designed and documented in accordance with this document or IEC 61400-1. The scope also includes all aspects that may affect the structural integrity throughout its entire lifespan, such as assembly and maintenance.
The evaluation load data are obtained in accordance with IEC 61400-1 or IEC 61400-2, and the implied reliability level and local safety factors of the loads are taken into account.
