Scope

This document defines the X.509 certificate standard for verifying the paths of autonomous systems (AS) in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). As part of the BGPsec extension, this standard defines the format of certificate requests based on X.509 certificates and the process by which relying parties (RP) verify the paths of end-entity certificates.
