Scope

This standard specifies the principles and units of the Tex system for expressing line density.
Appendix A and Appendix B respectively give the conversion relationships for calculating Tex values from other unit systems, as well as the steps for promoting the Tex system in trade and industry.
This standard applies to all types of textile fibers, semi-finished products (such as roving and coarse yarn), yarns, and similar structured textile materials.
