Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of fire-fighting equipment, the basic requirements for the installation of fire-fighting equipment on buses, application requirements, and other requirements. This standard applies to M2 and M3 class buses and dedicated school buses (hereinafter referred to as "vehicles"). This standard does not apply to the installation of fire-fighting equipment for Class D fire hazards (such as lithium-ion batteries) on electric vehicles.
