Scope

This standard provides guidance on the evaluation of the photobiological safety of lamps and lighting systems, including various types of lamps. For all non-coherent broadband electric light sources, including light-emitting diodes (LEDs), but excluding lasers, the standard clearly specifies the evaluation and control of photobiological hazards from optical radiation in the wavelength range of 200nm to 3000nm. It also provides reference measurement techniques and grading plans for exposure radiation limits.
