Scope

This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, and packaging of insulating materials such as tubes and rods used in live-line work.
This standard applies to hollow insulating tubes, foam-filled insulating tubes, and solid insulating rods (special-shaped tubes and telescopic tubes are not included in this standard) used in the manufacture of live-line work tools and equipment in power systems with a nominal voltage of 1 kV and above. These insulating materials are made of synthetic materials.
