Scope

This part of GB 17498 stipulates the additional special safety requirements specifically for rowing machines, in addition to the general safety requirements of GB 17498.1. This part should be used in conjunction with GB 17498.1.
This part applies to rowing machine equipment in fixed fitness equipment (hereinafter referred to as rowing machines).
If the rowing machine is equipped with auxiliary devices for additional training, it shall comply with the requirements of GB 17498.1 and the special requirements of this part.
