Scope

This part of GB/T 34500 specifies the determination methods for the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in the leachate and wastewater from mining, mineral processing, and smelting. This part is applicable to the determination of COD in the leachate and wastewater from mining, mineral processing, and smelting. This part includes two analytical methods: Method 1, the potassium dichromate titration method, and Method 2, the chlorine gas correction method. The determination ranges of Method 1 and Method 2 are shown in Table 1.
