Scope

This standard applies to hair drying and styling appliances (including their accessories) for household and similar use.
This standard defines the main performance characteristics of interest to users and specifies methods for testing these characteristics.
The test procedures were developed for comparative testing.
This standard does not specify performance requirements.
This standard does not cover hair care appliances with radiation heating, helmet hair dryers, or cutting devices.
Note 1: This standard does not address safety requirements (GB 4706.15).
Note 2: Due to the influence of environmental conditions, time changes, the origin of test materials, and the skill level of operators, when conducting comparative tests on multiple appliances at the same time, in the same laboratory, and by the same operator, most of the test methods described here will yield more reliable results.
