GB/T 31310-2014 Metallic material—Determination of residual stress—Hole drilling strain-gauge method
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the test overview, measurement equipment, measurement steps, calibration of stress calculation constants, and correction of measurement errors for determining the near-surface residual stress of isotropic linear elastic materials in metal materials using the drilling method.
The drilling method is suitable for measuring stress states with a small stress gradient within the surface of metal materials. In this state, the residual stress may remain constant along the depth direction (uniform stress), or it may vary significantly along the depth direction (non-uniform stress). Since the drilling method can only measure the plane residual stress near the surface of the material, the drilling method can only determine the magnitude of the local residual stress within the boundaries of the drilled hole.
