Scope
本文件描述了分类方案的注册和使用分类方案对MDR中的注册项进行分类，对ISO/IEC 11179-3进行补充。任何元数据项都能作为可分类项进行分类，包括对象类、特性、表示、概念域、值域、数据元概念以及数据元本身。
本文件不确立具体分类方案作为范例。认可一个具体的分类方案和（或)一种具体的认识论不在本文件的范围之内。这些问题会由其他的标准委员会解决，并（或)倾向于适用于某个特定的领域。MDR能建立属于自己的分类方案，其他标准委员会正在发展或已经开发了适用于分类的规范语言和（或)具体的技术手段和结构。
按照ISO/IEC 11179-6的描述和规定，每个注册机构依据其认为合适的分类方案、结构以及内容对可分类项进行分类。注册机构可依据本文件规定的原则、方法、规程和属性等，对可分类项的分类情况进行记录与存档。
