Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for tubular heaters used in water heaters (hereinafter referred to as electric heating tubes).
This standard applies to tubular heaters used in household and similar applications of water heaters.
This standard does not apply to tubular heaters used in air conditioners, washing machines, dishwashers, microwave ovens, ovens, and other appliances.
