Scope
This section specifies the method for determining the mercury content in natural gas using iodine-impregnated silica gel chemical adsorption sampling, with a maximum sampling pressure of 40 MPa. This method is suitable for determining mercury content in natural gas ranging from 0.1 μg/m3 to 5000 μg/m3. It is applicable to samples with a hydrogen sulfide mass of less than 20 mg in the sampled volume, and samples with a total amount of liquid hydrocarbon condensate of less than 10 g/m3 under sampling conditions. The amount of mercury vapor collected is determined by measuring the absorbance or fluorescence at a wavelength of 253.7 nm.
