Scope

This standard applies to vacuum cleaners used in household and similar conditions. The purpose of this standard is to specify the basic performance characteristics of vacuum cleaners that are of concern to users and to describe the methods of measuring these characteristics. Note: Due to the influence of environmental conditions, time changes, testing materials, and operating levels, when conducting comparative tests at the same time, in the same laboratory, and by the same operators, most testing methods will yield more reliable results. For safety requirements, refer to GB 4706.1—2005 and GB 4706.7 standards. For electromagnetic interference requirements, refer to CISPR 14-1 (see references).
