Scope
This standard specifies the test method for determining the content of halogen chlorine and bromine in thermoplastic elastomers and their products by oxygen bomb combustion ion chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of halogen chlorine and bromine in thermoplastic elastomers and their products, and is also applicable to the determination of chlorine and bromine in aqueous solutions or samples that are difficult to combust. The measurement range is: chlorine ≤ 1,500 mg/kg, bromine ≤ 1,500 mg/kg; the method detection limit is: chlorine 15 mg/kg, bromine 75 mg/kg. This standard is not applicable to samples in which insoluble halides exist in the initial sample or are generated during the combustion step.
