Scope

This document specifies the instruments and procedures used to determine the long-term water absorption of samples.
This document is applicable to insulation products.
This document describes two methods:
—— Method 1: Partial immersion;
—— Method 2: Full immersion.
The long-term water absorption by partial immersion is intended to simulate the water absorption caused by the long-term exposure of products to water.
The long-term water absorption by full immersion is a relevant test condition for products in certain applications and is not directly related to field conditions.
