Scope

This document specifies the requirements for the design, materials, construction, installation, and testing of fuel systems permanently installed in internal combustion engines.
This document applies to diesel and gasoline systems permanently installed on small boats driven by inboard and outboard engines, as well as all components from the fuel inlet to the connection point of the propulsion engine or auxiliary engine.
For the design and testing requirements of gasoline and diesel fuel tanks permanently installed in small boats for internal combustion engines, please refer to ISO 21487:2022.
