Scope
This standard specifies the on-site testing and acceptance principles for static var compensators (SVCs). This standard does not include factory testing and simulation testing of the components of the SVC system. The on-site testing of the internal equipment of the SVC, the on-site testing of the SVC subsystems, and the on-site acceptance of the entire SVC system shall be completed by the supplier. The on-site acceptance of the entire SVC system shall be conducted by the user or according to the agreement between the two parties. This standard applies to SVCs that use thyristor technology and are applied in medium-voltage (MV) and higher power transmission and distribution systems, as well as in industrial environments.
