Scope
This standard applies to large motors and is a supplement to IEC 6003421. This standard specifies test methods for determining efficiency and obtaining various losses, which are applicable when full-load testing cannot be conducted. The test results of these methods have a high degree of uncertainty. Note: It is recognized that on-site testing under full-load conditions using calorimetry is acceptable. The specific methods specified in this standard are: -- Motor calibration method; -- Self-deceleration method; -- Calorimetry method.
