Scope

This standard specifies the marking, material, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and storage of sight glass for pressure vessels.
This standard applies to circular borosilicate glass (hereinafter referred to as sight glass) made by the tempering process for pressure vessels with an operating temperature not exceeding 280°C and an operating pressure below 6.4 MPa.
This standard does not apply to sight glass used in pressure vessels with extremely hazardous and highly hazardous media toxicity as defined in HG 20660.
