Scope

This standard specifies the types, inspection, and assembly terminology and definitions commonly used for rubber sealing products used in hydraulics and pneumatics; the terminology and definitions commonly used to describe the types of sealing strips used in automobiles; and the terminology and definitions commonly used to describe the types, components, tolerances, and fit, as well as appearance defects of rotating shaft lip sealing rings. This standard is applicable to units that produce and use rubber sealing products for hydraulics and pneumatics, automotive sealing strips, and rotating shaft lip sealing rings, as well as relevant departments that revise and amend standards and prepare technical documents and publications.
