Scope

This standard establishes a grading system for sealed radioactive sources based on testing performance, and stipulates the performance, requirements, testing methods, marking, and certificates of the sources.
This standard provides sealed radioactive source producers with a series of tests to evaluate the safety of their products during use, and also facilitates users in selecting the type of radioactive sources that meet their usage requirements, especially when selecting the type of radioactive sources for places concerned with preventing ionizing radiation exposure caused by leaks of radioactive substances. This standard can also provide guidance for management departments.
These tests are divided into several groups, such as tests of exposure to abnormally high and low temperatures and various mechanical tests. Each test applies to different levels of strictness. Whether the test results pass or not depends on whether the contents of the sealed radioactive sources leak.
