Scope

This standard specifies the procedures for monitoring energy-related performance parameters in PV systems, including the irradiance on the inclined surface, the output of the array, the input and output of the energy storage device, and the input and output of the power regulator. The standard also stipulates the procedures for exchanging and analyzing monitoring data. The purpose of these procedures is to evaluate the overall performance of PV systems operating independently, connected to the grid, or used in conjunction with non-PV energy sources such as conventional generators and wind turbines. Due to the relatively high cost of measurement equipment, this standard is not applicable to small-scale independent systems.
