Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for the raw materials, product quality, application scope, usage methods, inspection methods, marking and packaging, transportation and storage, labels and instructions, and precautions of phenolic disinfectants.
This standard applies to disinfectants primarily made from phenolic compounds such as phenol, cresol, p-chloro-m-cresol, and trichlorohydroxydiphenyl ether, using appropriate surfactants and ethanol or isopropanol as solubilizing agents, and ethanol or isopropanol (or) water as solvents, without adding other disinfectants with bactericidal components.
This standard does not apply to other single or compound phenolic disinfectants.
