Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage of silica as a feed additive. This standard applies to silica feed additives produced by the precipitation method (using quartz sand and sodium carbonate that are high-temperature calcined to produce a sodium silicate solution, which is then reacted with an acid to produce silica).
