Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the total nickel, total cobalt, total selenium, total vanadium, total antimony, and total thallium content in fertilizers using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICPOES).
This standard is applicable to the determination of the total nickel, total cobalt, total selenium, total vanadium, total antimony, and total thallium content in fertilizers.
The detection limits of this standard method are as follows: nickel (Ni) is 0.02 mg/kg; cobalt (Co) is 0.02 mg/kg; selenium (Se) is 0.4 mg/kg; vanadium (V) is 0.02 mg/kg; antimony (Sb) is 0.1 mg/kg; and thallium (Tl): when using Step 6.2.2 a), it is 0.01 mg/kg; when using Step 6.2.2 b), it is 0.02 mg/kg.
