Scope

This standard specifies the performance classification and selection, requirements, and testing of building curtain walls and doors and windows. This standard applies to curtain walls and doors and windows used in civil buildings. This standard does not apply to decorative systems where panels are directly pasted on the outer walls of main structures, or to dry-hanging systems on outer walls of unsupported frame structures; nor does it apply to special doors and windows such as fire-resistant doors and windows, escape doors and windows, smoke exhaust windows, and radiation shielding doors and windows.
