Scope

This document specifies the dimensions and gaps of the front guard and its openings for portable hand-held chainsaws, which ensure the necessary safety provided by the front guard. The guard can serve as a barrier between the operator's hand and the chainsaw, as well as the operating lever for the manual chain brake.
For chainsaws with a ring handle (see Figure 1), this document does not apply to the area on the right side of the support rod on the front handle (when viewed from the rear).
