GB/T 17830-2017 Determination of polyethylene glycol content in nonionic ethoxylated surfactants—HPLC method
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies a high-performance liquid chromatography method for determining the content of polyethylene glycol (PEG) in polyethylene oxide-based fatty alcohols and polyethylene oxide-based alkylphenols with the chemical formula R(OC2H4)n OH (where n indicates the average EO adduct number). This standard is applicable to ethoxylated products that can be dissolved in methanol or methanol/water (80/20, by volume) and is suitable for determining the PEG content of samples greater than or equal to 0.1% (samples with excessively high content require appropriate dilution). This standard is not applicable to the determination of polyethylene glycols with a molecular weight of less than 400 g/mol, nor is it applicable to the determination of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and glycerol.
