本标准适用于拖拉机或自走式机械制造商在设备上安装自动导航系统，以及在设备出厂后改装的自动导航系统。
本标准适用于需要车载驾驶员对拖拉机或自走式机械进行主要控制的导航系统。
本标准没有规定确保自动导航系统中复杂电子控制系统的完整性的必要要求。这些要求在涉及复杂电气/电子车辆控制系统的其他标准中给出。
当本标准的要求与特定机器标准不同时，特定机器标准的要求优先于本标准。
