GB/T 39534-2020 Corrosion of metals and alloys—Method for determination of the uniform corrosion rate of stainless steels and nickel based alloys in liquids
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the measurement methods for the uniform corrosion rate of stainless steel and nickel-based alloys in specific liquids, as well as the passivation ability of the materials after activation.
This standard is applicable to estimating the uniform corrosion rate of materials in liquids under atmospheric conditions, and it is also applicable to the chemical industry under special environmental conditions, but it is not a qualification test for them. This standard can also be used to determine the equivalent corrosion rate diagram and the temperature when the corrosion rate exceeds 0.1 mm/a.
This standard is not applicable to the measurement of excessively high corrosion rates exceeding 1 mm/a, as higher corrosion rates indicate that the stainless steel is not suitable for such applications.
This standard is not applicable to solutions containing halides, especially chlorides, as these may lead to localized corrosion.
