This section applies to ceramic fixed capacitors with a defined temperature coefficient (Class 1 ceramics) used in electronic devices, including leadless capacitors, but excluding multi-layer ceramic fixed capacitors for surface mounting. 1) Electromagnetic interference suppression capacitors are not included in this section. Such capacitors are covered in IEC 60384-14, "Fixed Capacitors for Electronic Equipment - Part 14: Sub-specification for Fixed Capacitors Used in Electromagnetic Interference Suppression and Power Supply Network Connections".
