Scope

This standard specifies the terminology, symbols, basic tooth profiles, and dimensions of conical threads and cylindrical pipe threads used in gas cylinders.
This standard applies to the conical threads used to connect the gas cylinder's nozzle to its valve, and the cylindrical pipe threads used to connect the gas cylinder's cap to its neck ring (hereinafter referred to as "cylindrical threads").
The conical threads used to connect the fusible plug and its seat in gas cylinders with safety devices may also be used in accordance with this standard.
