Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for the production of grafted seedlings of watermelons in factories, including the environmental conditions of the production site, the facilities and equipment for seedling production, the standards for high-quality seedlings, the seedling cultivation techniques, plant quarantine, and the packaging and transportation of finished seedlings. This standard applies to the production of grafted seedlings of watermelons in the Kashgar region of Xinjiang. Main technical content: 6. Seedling cultivation techniques 6.1 Facility and equipment disinfection 6.1.1 Greenhouse disinfection: Use potassium permanganate + formaldehyde + boiling water to produce fumigation disinfection in a plastic container. For each 666.7 m2 greenhouse, use 1.65 kg of potassium permanganate, 1.65 kg of formaldehyde, and 8.4 kg of boiling water. First add formaldehyde to boiling water, then add potassium permanganate to produce fumigation reaction. Seal the greenhouse for 48 hours for disinfection, open the ventilation ports, and use it after the odor dissipates. 6.1.2 Seedling tray disinfection: Use a 0.1% potassium permanganate solution to soak the seedling trays for 15–20 minutes, then remove and drain the disinfectant solution. Store them neatly in the warehouse and cover with a clean plastic film to prevent rainwater contamination. 6.2 Substrate selection and preparation The selection of substrate shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 2118-2012. Use high-quality imported peat, vermiculite, and perlite. The three materials shall be mixed in a volume ratio of 4:2:1, and then add 0.5 kg of standard compound fertilizer with 15% N, P, and K to each cubic meter of mixed substrate. Use 200 g of 50% Multisporin or 800-fold solution of Methamidophos for substrate disinfection. Mix the fertilizer and disinfectant evenly with the substrate, and the water content of the substrate shall be about 50%–60%. 6.3 Seedling tray selec
