Scope

This document specifies the structure, performance, type test, and inspection requirements of marine navigation fax receivers. This fax receiver is used to receive weather maps transmitted by "Radio Meteorological Chart Fax Transmission" described in Part III-5 of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Publication No. 386.
This document is applicable to shipboard radio fax receivers that receive weather maps and other images showing weather conditions to assist in maritime navigation.
