Scope

This standard specifies a general method for determining iron by colorimetry using 1,10-phenanthroline. This standard is applicable to the determination of trace iron in chemical reagents. The detection range of the visual colorimetry method is 0.04 μg/mL to 2 μg/mL (calculated as Fe), and the detection range of the spectrophotometry method is 0.08 μg/mL to 2 μg/mL (calculated as Fe).
