Scope
This standard specifies the samples, testing instruments, surface (water vapor) moisture resistance settings, test methods, calculations, and inspection reports for determining the moisture absorption/release performance of building materials using the humidity response method. The standard also defines the moisture absorption/release efficiency of building materials, which is determined by measuring the mass change of the sample when it is moved from a space with a certain relative humidity condition to another space with a different relative humidity condition under the same temperature conditions. The moisture absorption/release performance of the material can be measured through a single cycle or multiple cycles.
