Scope
This standard specifies the definition, symbols, abbreviations, product classification, materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of double hot-melt socket-and-plunge polyolefin fittings made from polyolefin pressure pipe materials by injection molding (hereinafter referred to as double hot-melt fittings).
This standard applies to double hot-melt fittings used in cold and hot water piping systems, including industrial and civil cold and hot water, drinking water, hot water heating, and central air conditioning systems.
This standard does not apply to fire extinguishing systems.
