Scope
This standard specifies the determination of the purity of ortho-xylene and its hydrocarbon impurity content by gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of ortho-xylene with a purity of not less than 99.0% (mass fraction). The detection range of hydrocarbon impurities such as non-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, m-xylene, p-xylene, n-propylbenzene, and isopropylbenzene is (0.001–1.000)% (mass fraction).
