Scope

This part of GB/T 39693 specifies the method for determining the apparent hardness of rubber rollers (expressed in international rubber hardness).
The method is similar in principle to the method for determining rubber hardness in ISO 48-2. It essentially consists of measuring the depth of the indentation caused by a spherical indenter under a specified force. The instrument used is similar to the one described in ISO 48-2, with a base specially designed for roller surfaces and similar curved surfaces.
Note: For some rubber rollers, there may be significant variations in the thickness of the surface rubber, which may affect the measured apparent hardness.
