Scope

This standard specifies the method of measuring the electrical conductivity of non-ferromagnetic metals using electromagnetic (eddy current) technology. This standard is applicable to instruments that can directly read the conductivity value, but not to eddy current instruments that cannot provide direct conductivity readings. This standard is applicable to uncoated or flat or slightly curved metals with a thin non-conductive coating. This standard can be used for metal sorting, and the factors that affect the sorting results include alloy types, aging, cold deformation, heat treatment, non-uniform heating or overheating, and corrosion, etc.
