Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, testing instruments, testing techniques, testing records, and testing report content for the detection of the compactness of the backfill subgrade in road engineering using electromagnetic methods. This standard is applicable to the on-site detection of the compactness of the backfill subgrade in road engineering, where the thickness of the tested layer does not exceed 30 cm, and the soil type is clay, silty soil, or sand with a plasticity index (Ip) of ≥7, as well as gravelly soil with a maximum particle size of no more than 40 mm. The on-site detection of the compactness of backfill in other road engineering projects can be implemented with reference to this standard.
