Scope
This standard establishes the basic principles for evaluating the aging of electrical insulation systems (EIS) under electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stress conditions, or under multiple stress conditions. This standard specifies the principles and procedures to be followed during the development of EIS functional testing and evaluation protocols to determine the expected operational lifespan of a specific EIS. This standard applies to all standardization technical committees responsible for equipment containing EIS.
