Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the sound power level or sound energy level of a noise source based on the sound pressure level measured on the surface of the noise source (machine or equipment) in a test environment that meets given conditions. Using these measurements, the A-weighted sound power level (or the A-weighted sound energy level of burst sound and transient noise) generated by the noise source can be calculated.
