GB/T 23773-2009 Inorganic chemicals for industrial use—General method for determination of Ammonium content—Nessler's reagent colorimetric method
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies a general method for determining the ammonium content in inorganic chemical products: the Nessler's reagent colorimetric method. It includes a method summary, safety tips, general provisions, reagents, instruments, equipment, analysis steps, and result calculation.
This standard is applicable to the determination of trace ammonium ions in inorganic chemical products. When the volume of the test solution is 100 mL, the ammonium ion concentration (NH4) shall be ≤2 mg/L. When the volume of the test solution is 100 mL, the minimum detectable concentration by visual observation shall be 0.02 mg/L. When using a 1 cm pathlength cuvette in spectrophotometry, the minimum detectable concentration shall be 0.05 mg/L. When ρ(NH4) = 1.0 mg/L, the sensitivity is approximately 0.2 absorbance units.
