Basic Information

Standard Code: GB/T 18256-2015
Standard Type: National standards
Standard Status: Active
is_force_gb: no
CCS Name: Non-destructive testing methods for metals
ICS Name: Nondestructive testing of metal materials
Publish Date: 2015-09-11
Implement Date: 2016-06-01
Pages: 8 pages

Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for automatic ultrasonic transverse wave (generated by discrete probes or phased array technology) detection methods for seamless and welded steel pipes (except for submerged arc welding), in order to confirm their water pressure compactness.
This detection method is mainly used for the detection of longitudinal discontinuities. If necessary, manufacturers can decide whether to use Lamb wave detection on their own.
This standard is applicable to the detection of steel pipes with an outer diameter of not less than 10 mm and a ratio of outer diameter to wall thickness of not less than 5.
