Scope

This standard specifies the method of determining the moisture permeability and crease moisture permeability of thin-walled materials using the weight (moisture permeation cup) method.
This standard is applicable to flat thin-walled packaging materials that can prevent water vapor permeation, such as paper, cardboard, plastic films, composite materials of paper and film or metal foil, rubber or plastic-coated fabrics, etc. This method is not suitable for films that are damaged or exhibit significant shrinkage due to contact with hot wax under test conditions. It is not recommended to use this method for materials with a moisture permeability of less than 1 g/(m2·24 h) or a thickness greater than 3 mm.
